Overview
I have just recently paid my 6th-month house mortgage in Pag-IBIG through Metrobank online. So yeah! I’m just a new Filipino Pag-IBIG housing loan owner. However, this recent payment was different from my last payment since I utilized one of the features of Metrobank Online services.
During my first payment, I was too excited to pay my mortgage in SM Bayad Center facility specially when I received my receipt (you know that pride feeling of having your own house hehe). I usually pay two days before my due date. However, things changed when my two days allocation for paying the mortgage fall on the weekdays. I have to go to SM Bayad Center after work just to line up in the long queue and worst I still have to withdraw my money from ATM which could also have long queue. That could be so frustrating that could even be worsen when you are caught up in a heavy traffic in your way to payment center. To ease this kind of scenario, I decided to pay my bill online thru Metrobank site.
So here’s how I did it:
How To Pay Your Pag-IBIG Housing Loan Thru Metrobank Online
First you need to know your Payment Reference No. (20-digit numbers) which can be found in your monthly Pag-IBIG Billing statement. See below image: (If you don’t know where to get your Pag-IBIG Billing statement, just click on this link.)
Then go to Metrobank online website to login your account.
Just close any window that prompts on the screen and it will re-direct you to login site similar below. Then input your login details before clicking the LOGIN button. (Metrobank might send you an sms verification code to your enrolled phone number to verify this login. Just enter the code to the screen prompt to authorize you own login.)
On your Dashboard shortcuts, select and click Pay Bills icon:
Then under I am paying input box, input the amount of your monthly Pag-IBIG housing loan or your Total Amount due. Under For input box, select Pag-Ibig Fund (Individual). For Subscriber/Account No., input your 20-digit payment reference number found in your Pag-IBIG billing statement. Then continue and select the account to be debited under Using input box. You can write anything in notes if you want as it is only optional. Finally, click the NEXT button.
To continue further your payment, carefully review the details of your payment and confirm it by clicking the CONTINUE button:
Then you will be asked to enter your 6-digit Metrobank Passcode to authorize the payment transaction.
Once you have entered your right passcode, your payment transaction will now then be processed. And Voilà! You just finished paying your monthly mortgage in Pag-IBIG thru Metrobank Online. See below sample payment in progress.
After the said payment, a confirmation will be sent to your email address linked to your Metrobank account stating that your payment was successful.
Take note that every time you made this payment, the 20-digit payment reference number changes monthly so always use your recent billing statement sent by Pag-IBIG online facility.
These steps might be tricky to you as you need to get your actual Pag-Ibig housing loan bill to know your 20-digit payment reference number. For easier and more convenient in paying your Pag-Ibig housing loan, you may check these steps using GCash that only requires your Housing Account Number (HAN) — which never change monthly. Does the reference number changes? From our previous transactions paid via Bayad Center, they did changed.

yes. but just in case, you may use your prior month's reference number. it will still be posted to your account naman. screenshot nalng din sa acknowledgement for future use. 🙂

The 20-digit payment reference number can be found in your monthly billing statement. If you don't receive your billing statement, you can request it from Pag-Ibig by following this blog: https://howbutingtingworks.com/index.php/how-to-online/how-to-get-your-monthly-pag-ibig-housing-loan-billing-statement/. On the other hand, Pag-Ibig MID number is different from HL Account Number. You can use your Housing Loan Account number to pay your monthly Pag-ibig bill in SM bayad center or other Paying Centers which are partner by Pag-Ibig. Thank you.

You should be able to make transactions through your Metrobank App 24 hours a day. On the other side, it takes 2-4 banking days for Pag-IBIG to confirm your payment. And for your concern about the transaction fee, as far as I can recall, there was no fee charged to during this transaction. However if you still encounter the same error in paying your Pag-IBIG Housing loan thru Metrobank app, you can try to use Gcash. It is more convenient and faster to use Gcash for paying your bills and other online transaction. Unfortunately, yes. This payment reference number changes monthly in your billing statement so as your payment in Metrobank. It’s really inconvenient as the payment reference number is too long to write down. However, for faster payment, I have here alternative guidelines for paying your Pag-IBIG housing loan using Gcash. It’s easier to pay through Gcash as you only need to input your housing loan account number instead of the payment reference number which changes monthly. What happens when the ATM reference No. is inputted in the Subscriber/Account No instead of the Payment Reference No.?
An email confirmation from MBTC is received stating it was successful, would that mean it was acknowledged by PAG-IBIG?
Hi Kris Mae, I am not sure if it would really be ok to do that. However, to make sure that the payment transaction using the ATM ref. No was indeed successful, you need to check with your Pag-Ibig housig loan balance if the payment was acknowledged and please share here your response to help the others as well. Thank you very much!
