How To Pay Your Pag-IBIG Housing Loan Thru GCash

Overview

Perhaps one of the contributing factors that makes most Filipinos hesitant of using mobile or online payment for bills and purchases is the fear of losing their money especially if the amount involved is expensive. One particular example is paying our Pag-IBIG housing loan amortization which could range from P2,000 to P35,000 (minimum wage earner can borrow with monthly amortization for as low as P2,445.30 and a maximum loan can reach up to P6Million with monthly amortization of P34,490.73). It’s really a big money if your amortization lies somewhere in between. And probably that makes other opt to do over-the-counter payment instead of online one. However, that kind of option is actually a hassle and more expensive than doing your online transaction. Over-the-counter payments are inconvenient as it consumes time & effort to line in a long queue. On the other hand, convenience fee in using online transaction is cheaper than going to any cash collecting payment center as you have to consume gasoline or transpo fare on your way to it.

To lessen the worries of Pag-IBIG members in using their Gcash, below is the step-by-step procedure to online payment of their Pag-IBIG Housing Loan via GCash mobile app:

Final Thought

GCash mobile app is really easy to use and convenient in paying my bills and other online payment. I personally use it in all my online transaction and I never had any experience of losing my money in my past transactions. I hope that the number of their merchant partners grows bigger to cover most of all online payments and transaction and becomes our standard digital wallet just like how Wechat is being used in China. This would be more convenient in our daily transaction most especially that banking institutions nowadays are setting to hike interbank ATM fees.

    1. Hi Jovelyn, HAN stands for Housing Account Number. The HAN number that is being sent to you by Pag IBIG via SMS is your Housing Account Number which you can use as “Account No” when paying your Pag IBIG housing loan via Gcash payment. Thank you.
