A Short Trip

A Short Trip

By Christopher Llorente

We had accidentally collided in a busy crossroad,
the impact was so hard that entangled our loads,
I got fractures while you got nothing but a bruise,
that’s why things were so easy for you to let loose….

From then on I took much care of crossing every road,
believing we might meet on the same unexpected mode,
and so I stop at every crossway even the light is low
just to hold back and see you pass me by so slow…..

But despite my cautious act and signs of admonition
you’re still reckless moving forward without a vision
you come and go leaving nothing but a face of oblivion
you didn’t even see me blowing my horn for your attention….

And now that we’re completely steered in an opposite route
our distance grew even further than what I’ve thought
so long to you, girl who shared her journey for me so short
I just hope that someday our roads lead us to the truth
that the world is spherically small for us to stray forth….
