Lately, I learned that my girlfriend has been using her old Samsung Galaxy A5 phone for 5 years to which performance is getting so unresponsive. It was indeed annoying to used it when I explored it as opening any application is taking a century. So I decided to get her a new phone by applying a Postpaid plan from Globe. Since I was already a post paid plan holder from Globe, it would be much faster to get approved as I already have record from them. Furthermore it would be much cheaper too to avail it by installment rather than buying a brand new one with one-time full payment. And since Valentines day has just recently ended without me giving anything to her, it would fairly be my post gift to her instead. Thankfully, she was not an extravagant person so she pick Samsung Galaxy A12 when I let her choose her preference among the available phones in Globe store. The said unit has no cash out and has low monthly fee of P999.00. (She was kinda thoughtful and concern about my monthly recurring fee)

During this application, I was required to upload the following documents as their requirements:

Application Requirements

For those who also want to apply for post paid plan with device, you will be needing to prepare 1 photo of valid ID and 1 softcopy of your POFC (Proof Of Financial Capacity). Below are the acceptable IDs:

• UMID ID
• Professional Drivers License
• PRC ID
• Passport
• TIN
• Company ID
• Philhealth ID
• NBI Clearance
• OFW ID
• PAGIBIG Loyalty Card
• Persons with Disability (PWD) ID
• Postal ID
• Professional Organization IDs
• Senior Citizen’s ID
• SSS ID
• Student Driver’s Permit
• Temporary driver’s license
• Temporary Resident Visa/ Working Permit
• Treaty/Trader’s/Investor’s Visa
• Voter’s ID

For POFC (Proof of Financial Capacity), below are the acceptable documents:

• Certificate of employment with compensation indicated
• ITR 2316
• BIR form 1700
• One month computerized payslip
• Government Payroll/Payslip
• Latest Notarized Contract of Lease
• Latest Business/Mayor’s permit
• Credit Card ID – Applicable to Mobile Applications Only

So how did I apply her Postpaid plan via Globe Online store? Here’s how:

How To Apply Online For Globe Postpaid Plan with Phone

First, head on to Globe Post Paid Plan Site. From there, you can select any Phone device you want by accessing the filter found on the left side menu. You can filter by type of OS, Category, Memory Capacity, Cashout value, Phone Brand, Camera feature and many more. Once you found your desired phone, just click VIEW DETAILS button or the image itself (see below image). For this demonstration, we will apply for Samsung Galaxy A12.

Once you are on the selected device page, you can select the color of device you prefer by checking the color you want from the available colors(see color boxed in red). You can also view or edit the plan to your liking by clicking the View/Edit Plan button (see boxed in green below). Lastly, click the Add to Cart button to continue your order. (boxed in yellow).

Upon clicking the Add to Cart button, a reminder will pop up on screen as shown below. Just click PROCEED button to continue.

Then on your shopping cart as shown below, you can redeem any coupon you have applicable for globe by entering it to coupon code blank. Else, just click the Proceed to Checkout button to continue further..

Then globe may offer you internet service as shown below. If you are not interested in applying, just click the CONTINUE WITH MY EXISTING ORDER button without ticking the check box on top of it.

Then Globe will start to collect your personal information for your application processing and record keeping. Just fill up all details and click Continue button when finished.

Likewise, continue supplying for your additional info as requested below before clicking the Continue button.

For the shipping details of your Phone device, select the payment method your prefer and your delivery address. For the address, you can select either to use the same billing address you supplied in your personal details of you can opt to supply a different shipping address like your company. Once settled, click the Next Step button.

Then for the document upload, you are required to upload the ID and POFC (Proof Of Financial Capacity) you prepared from the selection stated in Application Requirements. Then if everything else is completed, click Next Step button.

Now you are ready to complete and place your order. Carefully review your order details below prior to ticking the checkbox for terms and conditions. Then click the Place my order button.

And Voila! This ends your online application for your postpaid plan with phone device inclusion. You screen should prompt similar to below including your order reference number.

Likewise, you will receive an email from Globe on the same day of application as an acknowledgement for receiving your order online similar to below:

Now all you have to do is wait for a call from an agent of Globe Telecom and email from them regarding the status of your application.

Final Thought

Below is the timeline of my application online until I received the phone device I ordered:

• Feb. 20 – I applied for Postpaid Plan with Phone via Globe Online Shop
• Feb. 22 – A globe agent called me to verify my personal details as well as my order. On the same day, Globe notified me thru email that my order was officially confirmed by Globe Telecom
• Feb. 24 – My application was approved and notified to me via email. I was required to pay one-month advance worth 999. I paid it at globe.com.ph/paybill.html. Then I filled out the payment information form here to inform globe about my payment.
• Feb. 25 – Globe emailed me about my payment confirmation
• Feb. 26 – Globe notified me again via email about the schedule of my handset delivery
• Mar. 1 – I received my Globe package via Entrego

That was fast! Less than two weeks of waiting to receive my order.

Here’s my piece of advice to those who wants to apply too. When you apply for your postpaid plan, you also need to consider your income for higher chance of getting approved of your plan. Your plan should suits your income for your monthly payment capacity. You can also edit your plan to remove any unnecessary features bundle in your package plan or you can reduce your monthly recurring fee by opting for higher cash out. All applications are subject for approval and additional requirements may be asked if deemed necessary by the globe operator.

So far, the phone we received was great. She was happy and thankful about it that we slept late that night just configuring the new phone and transferring her old files from the old one to her new phone. The Samsung Galaxy A12 is more powerful than my current Iphone 8. The lcd size, camera pixel, internal memory, RAM size, its dual-sim slot and the presence of another slot for external memory is already a “monster” in its specs.
