How To Withdraw From Metrobank's ATM Without Using ATM Card

I Forgot To Bring My ATM Card

One day I went to WalterMart to shop for my groceries. That time I knew I don’t have enough cash in my wallet so I drop by to the nearest Metrobank ATM to withdraw some. Unfortunately, on my way to ATM, I’ve been searching but can’t find my ATM card in my back pack especially in my metal case card holder. I panic while trying to figure out where the heck I misplaced it. Nothing comes to my mind but hoping that I just left it at home. I was thinking to go back home to get it but I felt so frustrated knowing that I just wasted my time and effort going to grocery for nothing. On my way out of the Mall, I suddenly remember my Metrobank App. If I can recall, I believe I saw a cardless withdrawal feature on it while browsing its contents. My mind started to get curious so I browsed my Metrobank App and luckily found the said feature. It was my first time to use that feature without any idea so I was kind of hesitant and doubtful (who wouldn’t if money is involved?? what if my money get lost in the middle of transaction if I did it wrong?) So I just tried a small amount.

Before withdrawing from the ATM cardlessly, you must need to create Cardless Withdrawal Request from your Metrbank Account using your Metrobank Mobile app in phone. So here is how it’s done:

Creating Cardless Withdrawal Request From Metrobank App

First, open your Metrobank Application installed in your mobile phone:

Enter your Username and Password for your Metrobank Online Account then click the LOGIN button:

Once on your main panel, click the Menu button found at the upper left corner of the screen (see figure encircled in yellow).

Choose and click the CARDLESS WITHDRAWAL option.

Select the Create New Request for the transaction.

Choose and click the account you wish to withdraw your money from.

Enter the Amount you want to withdraw and nominate your own 4-Digit PIN then click the NEXT button. (Remember this 4-Digit PIN as this will be asked during your actual cardless withdrawal from ATM)

The details of your transaction will be displayed in summary. Verify if the details are correct before your click the SUBMIT button..

A system-generated One-Time Password (OTP) will be flashed in your screen. Just click the SUBMIT button.

After clicking the SUBMIT button, your request will be verified as successful and you will be given the 2 PINS. One is the 4-digit PIN you elected and the other is the 6-digit PIN generated by the system. You will be needing these PINs during your cardless withdrawal in Metrobank’s ATM so you better memorize them or take a screen shot before clicking the OK button.

Then Voila! You are now ready to go to any Metrobank ATM and perform the Cardless withdrawal.

However, if you think you made a mistake and want to cancel this request, just go back to Cardless Withdrawal option and select View/Cancel Requests.

Then select the request you have just made. You can only select the requests which are PENDING.

Upon selecting the request, just click the CANCEL REQUEST button.

Please be wary that the request you made has only a validity period of 30 minutes. Therefore you need to make sure that you are near the ATM to make sure your will be able to withdraw the request on time. If ever, the the request has expired, no deduction will happen to your account. You can just repeat the request and try it again. After creating the Cardless Request, you are now ready to withdraw from any Metrobank ATM without using your ATM card. Here’s how it’s done.

How To Withdraw Cardless in Metrobank ATM

Once you are in front of the Metrobank’s ATM, just press ENTER button in the ATM’s keypad. (If the screen is touch panel, just find the ENTER panel on screen)

You will be prompted to enter the amount to withdraw (the same amount you made request on Metrobank App) and the 2 PINS (4-digit PIN and 6-digit PIN).
After following directions from the ATM screen, your cash will be dispensed subsequently. Bewildering! Isn’t it?

Final Thought

Realizing what could had happened to me if I was in the counter to pay my groceries cashless with my ATM card but can’t find it. That’s a pain in the neck! Thanks to this beautiful feature of Metrobank. I wish this could also be implemented across all banking institutions for the benefits of their clients. I think you can also use this to send money to your family or anyone like the TRANSFER TO ANYONE feature and the good thing is that the recipient will directly get the cash instantly. That’s brilliant!
