Overview
It has been more than six (6) months since you registered for the Philippine National ID and you might be wondering where or when your ID will be delivered to you. Well, as long as you have completed the registration and received your PhilSys Transaction slip, you may now check the status of the delivery of your ID via the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) website. Thanks to this newly launched online tracking system by Philippine Post Office as we can now lessen our worries in waiting for our parcels.
The Philippine Post Office
The Philippine Post Office or simply PHLPost is a government sector which is responsible for providing nationwide postal services in the Philippines. And now that the Philippine Identification System Act (PhilSys Law) has been enacted, the PHLPost is the one tasked to parcel your PhilID to your registered address.
So far the Post Office has delivered more than 14.7 million PhilSys ID’s nationwide which is equivalent to 94% of the 15.7 million ID cards turned-over for dispatch as of July 29, 2022. So your ID might be one of this remaining 6% on its way to be delivered to you so you might want to check its status. Fortunately, PhilPost has launched a tracker system online for you to track your PhilID.
Here’s how to track the delivery status of your Philippine National Identification (PhilID) card:
How To Track Your PhilID Online
Step 1
First is to check your Transaction Number from your PhilSys Transaction Slip. This transaction slip was your receipt from registration for the National ID. You should have received this slip after your registration as this will serve as your proof for claiming your PhilSys ID. See below sample transaction slip and your transaction number in red box.
Step 2
Once you find your transaction number just copy it or scan the QR code with your phone to get the number and visit the PHLPost Tracker site here. Then on the Home page similar below, type or paste your tracking number in the Tracking Number box and click the Track button.
Step 3
After clicking the Track button, the status of your PhilID will be shown similar below. If the status of your PhilID is now In Transit, it means your ID has already been dispatched for delivery and you will will be receiving it the soonest.
Unfortunately, mine is still “Not Found” as shown above. I had just newly registered in May 19, 2022 and it has been just 3 months so probably that is still under production. It was estimated by PSA that the delivery of national ID will take around 6 months after the completion of 2 registration steps however due to the fact that millions of Filipinos applied for PhilID, it would typically take longer than six (6) months to receive them.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if the result is “NOT FOUND”?
If the result shown is “NOT FOUND“, this means that your PhilID has not been received by the Post Office and the problem is not on Post Office but probably on Phil Sys or it might be still under printing by BSP. For you inquiries, you may call the Philippine Identification System Hotline 1388, send them message via Facebook messenger (https://www.facebook.com/PSAPhilSysOfficial) or email them at info@philsys.gov.ph.
What are the requirements in claiming the National ID?
To claim your PhilID, you will be needing to present of course your transaction slip along with any of your valid ID.
Can someone claim my PhilID For Me?
If you are unable to personally claim your PhilID during its delivery, you may appoint a representative to do so on your behalf. You just need to write an authorization letter giving your representative a power to claim your PhilID for you. Furthermore, your representative may also need to present his/her valid ID and also a photo copy of your valid ID.
What if I was not around when PhilPost delivered my PhilID?
The PHLPost will attempt to deliver your ID up to three (3) times. If you or your representative failed to received them, you PhilID will remain at your designated Phil Post Office and you will need to claim it personally within 30 calendar days.
What if I Lost my Transaction Slip?
If you lost your transaction slip, you will not be able to track the status of your PhilID as it contains your tracking number (unless you have a copy of it in your phone). However you can still claim you PhilID as long as you present any government-issued valid IDs on the day of delivery.
How much do I need to pay for the delivery of my PhilID?
The delivery of you PhilID is free of charge. PhilPost should not ask you for any fee. If you experience being charged for its delivery, you should contact PSA right way for assistance.
How long is the validity period of my PhilID?
Your PhilID has no expiration date. It shall remain valid as long as the information demographically or biometrically has not changed. However, if the card gets lost, stolen or damaged wherein the information are no longer readable and verifiable, you will need to request a replacement from PSA.
Final Thought
The government together with PhilSys aims to make the lives of all Filipinos more convenient by transitioning into a more digital society by providing us with a valid proof of identity by just utilizing a single ID, one that can be verified physically and digitally. With this new identification system Filipino’s access to financial services, social protection, health care, education system and other government and private services will be a lot easier, faster and more convenient. Transactions will more efficient, hassle-free and most of all will be accessible to all low-income earners/families who can barely get an ID before. However, from what it turns out, the production of this PhilID is already making a lot of Filipinos getting frustrated as they have waited so long and yet the status of their PhilID is still obscure. Nevertheless, there’s nothing else we can do than just extend our patience for it.
For the meantime if you are still waiting for your PhilID, you should never share your transaction slip to anyone nor post it in any of your social media account. And if ever you have already received them, you should do the same as it contains your demographic and biometric information which could be use for illegal purposes and/or unauthorized transactions.
Concurrently, we should also wait for the launch of PhilSys Mobile App as an alternative and digital version of PhilID that we can use while waiting for the actual PhilID card. PSA is eyeing to launch this mobile app this year.
Now that you already know the status of your PhilID delivery, you might want to learn more of the PSA services being offered such as requesting certificates of live birth, death, marriage or CENOMAR. If so, here’s your guideline in requesting for an appointment with PSA for getting a copy of your PSA Birth Certificate (link). Salamat mga Kabutingting!!!
