In today’s modern world, the concept of gifting has evolved from physical presents to digital gifts that you can instantly send to anyone, anytime, and anywhere. These digital gifts often come in the form of electronic cash, e-gifts, or vouchers that are easy to redeem at participating online stores or merchants.
Recently, I received an email from Giftaway informing me that my employer had sent me a Giftaway card and an eGift worth ₱1,000.00. At first, I wasn’t particularly thrilled because I wasn’t familiar with how to use it, and I assumed only a few stores I never visit, like restaurants or beauty shops, would accept it. However, after doing some online research, I discovered that a wide range of merchants accepts these vouchers. To my delight, I found that Shopee, one of my favorite platforms for shopping affordable and diverse items, is one of them.
So, if you’ve received a Giftaway voucher and are looking to use it to top up your ShopeePay balance, you’re in luck! Redeeming your voucher is simple and convenient, allowing you to continue shopping or paying bills on Shopee without any hassle. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process I did to redeem my own Giftaway voucher. But before anything else, discuss first what Giftaway is:

Steps To Redeem Your Giftaway Voucer For ShopeePay Top-Up
1. Check Your Giftaway Voucher Details
Before redeeming your voucher, ensure you have the following details:
- Voucher code: This is the unique code provided by Giftaway.
- Expiry date: Verify that your voucher is still valid.
- ShopeePay Account: Make sure the Shopee account you’re using is linked to your ShopeePay wallet. If you haven’t activated your ShopeePay wallet yet, follow the prompts to set it up. This typically involves verifying your identity and linking your phone number.
All these details can be found in the link or email sent to you by your gift sender (similar below). Just tap the envelop button to open your Giftaway Card or eGift. (Be cautious when opening gift links, especially if they are from unknown senders. Legitimate Giftaway emails will always have a sender address ending with ‘@giftaway.ph’.)
2. Open The Gift Voucher
The Giftaway Card or eGift comes along with a voucher which worth varies depending on your gift sender. To start using or redeeming it, just click the “Open” button.
3. Use Your Voucher
Upon opening your voucher, you will find the details about the gift you received including its worth, the voucher code and its expiration date. It would be better also if you can read the Terms and Conditions of Giftaway about using your voucher for a hassle-free transaction. To continue using it, just click the “USE” button.
4. Select ShopeePay As Top-up Option
To redeem your voucher, you can choose any online merchant you prefer. For this blog, however, I’ll be using Shopee as my chosen merchant. To proceed, simply type “Shopee” into the search bar to locate ShopeePay, then select it. Once you’ve made your selection, click the CONTINUE button to move forward.
5. Fill Up Details & Confirm
On the redemption page, similar to the one shown below, enter your registered mobile number linked to your ShopeePay account and your email address. Next, agree to the Terms and Conditions by ticking the checkbox, then click the Redeem button. On the following page, review the details you’ve provided to ensure they are correct, and click the Proceed button to continue. Please note that this transaction includes a ₱15.00 fee, which will be deducted from the total amount to be topped up to your ShopeePay account. (I’m not sure though if this amount is similar to other supported online merchants.)
6. Voucher Redemption
Once you’ve redeemed the voucher, Giftaway will process your request. You’ll receive a confirmation message or email indicating that the amount has been credited to your ShopeePay wallet. The processing time may vary, but it’s usually instant or completed within a few hours.
7. Verify Your ShopeePay Balance
After receiving confirmation, return to your ShopeePay wallet and check your updated balance. The credited amount from the Giftaway voucher should now be available for use. And Voila! My ShopeePay account just received ₱985.00 from Giftaway.

- Pay bills: ShopeePay lets you settle utility bills, mobile top-ups, and more.

- Invalid voucher code: Double-check the code for typos and ensure it hasn’t expired.
- Top-up delays: If your ShopeePay balance isn’t updated within the expected timeframe, contact Giftaway or ShopeePay customer support for assistance.
- Voucher restrictions: Ensure your voucher is eligible for ShopeePay and hasn’t been used for another platform.
